Back on the Gameboy Advance, Konami decided it would be a good idea to make a Mario Kart-like game with its own characters. The result was Konami Krazy Racers. The only characters that you would probably recognize in that game is Ninja from the Metal Gear series and Dracula from the Castlevania series. All-in-all, I would call that game a success and even better than the Mario Kart title for the Gameboy Advance.

This app for iOS and Android seeks to renew this game. This time around there are more recognizable character for most people. New characters include Frogger from the Frogger series, Pyramid Head from the Silent Hill series, Evil Rose from the Rumble Roses series, and Robbie Rabbit from Silent Hill 3. The gameplay is similar to that of any of the kart racing games. Think Mario Kart. There are Grand Prix race sets, Time Trials, and Challenges to complete. You can control the game in two different ways: Motion and Touch. With the motion controls you tilt the phone left or right to turn in those directions. For the touch controls you get a little bar that you slide left or right (pictured above). Because of these controls, the tracks aren't to complicated.

This game is probably worth the $3.44 you would have to shell out to buy it but since it is free on Getjar I say get it!

(For some reason the iOS version is only $0.99. Talk about unfair!)

This app isn't really an app per se. This is an app store. I usually don't like other app stores (I'm looking at you Amazon Appstore). They are usually very slow compared to the Android Market. I do choose to use an alternate appstore when they offer FREE paid apps. Free is good, right? Getjar offers a number of paid apps for free with more being added every week (or so they say). If an app that I post on here is offered for free on Getjar, I will make a note in the post with a link to Getjar.

Flash Game: http://pc.kiteretsu.jp/games/zka/zka.htm

Some years ago, I stumbled upon a match 3 flash game (linked above) by the name of Zoo Keeper. I played it almost everyday in the morning before school that week. This is an Android version of said game. Instead of gems, like Bejeweled, one of the most revered match 3 games, Zoo Keeper has animals.

The Android version of Zoo Keeper has two modes, Normal and Tokoton. In Normal Mode, you must match 3 of every type of animal in the first stage. In each stage after, you must match one more of each animal. For instance, in stage 2 you must match four total of each animal, in stage 3 five animals, and so on. In Tokoton Mode, you must match 100 of one animal to advance to the next stage but in the next stage only the animal that you matched 100 of's count is reset. Regardless, the goal is relatively the same: Match 3 of a type of animal as quickly as you can.

The presentation is great, which is why I played the flash version as much as I did. I'm a sucker for games that look good. Clean and cute graphics make this match 3 a great addition to you Android App Library!
